The proposal for the construction of a modern sports hall is part of a comprehensive development plan of the University of Zilina. The multipurpose hall is meant to be used for indoor sports, regular sport educational activities throughout the year, social events and concerts. With dimensions 48 x 70 m, the rectangular hall achieves the height of 14 m by an arched frame construction, which mirrors the aerodynamic feel of transport structures. On the upper floor, there is an entrance for visitors to the sports centre, an entrance hall with a buffet and access to the visitor stands with a capacity of 300-1500 people and toilets for visitors.

The load-bearing structure consists of visually pronounced glued wooden arched frames with acoustic vertical plates. The exterior part of the entrance staircase leads to stands and facilities for the adjacent athletics track.

When finished, the building of the multipurpose sports hall has the ambition to become a new architectural symbol for the University of Žilina and the city of Žilina.
