THE KRASŇANY FOREST AREA

The Krasňany Forest Area was created within the international cross-border cooperation with Austrian protected woodland in Lobau in the urbANNAtur 2011-2013 Project. It is located on the Pekna cesta road in Krasnany in Bratislava, in close proximity to the woodland. The aim of the creation of such places is the environmental protection of forests so that some of the recreation (such as grills, barbecues, sports and children’s play) would take place on the edge of the forest, instead of being the spontaneous activities of visitors in various locations within the forest. Currently, the area has provided two shelters for private and corporate meetings, a barbecue table, several fireplaces with seating, play elements (ping pong table, swing, petanque area), information boards and a WC. The project also deals as much as possible with parking in a way that is both convenient for visitors and not destructive of the forest.
